Strong & Waterproof

Thick full-grain leather (2.2-2.4 mm) that offers protection from all elements. Molds to feet and lasts for decades. Genuine full-grain leather is one of the best waterproof materials when it’s treated with grease, and it doesn’t need a plastic membrane to work. Because there’s no membrane, inner lining or padding, the boot dries fast instead of holding water like a sponge. You control everything: wear thicker socks for winter, thin socks for summer, and adjust the amount of grease or polish for maximum waterproofing or more breathability. One pair of boots, tuned to exactly how you like it.

Quick & Lightweight

At only ~650 g per boot in size 41, they’re designed to be about half the weight of many other combat boots, but still built for extremely hard use. The Quick Lock System lets you tighten the boot in one pull: slide your foot in, pull the laces through the lock at the top, and you’re done. Then just tuck the lace ends under the top flap so there are no loose laces. Choose the version with a side zipper if you prefer even less hassle: set your laces once, then use the zipper for fast on and off. The lightweight but robust PU outsole keeps the boot stable and grippy on any terrain.

The M77 line was originally developed in cooperation with the Norwegian defence forces in the 1970s. The M77 is still Norway’s standard-issue field boot with no announced replacement. The simple, proven formula just keeps on winning in harsh and changeable Nordic weather conditions. The M77 line boots have had an estimated over 500,000 wearers since 1977. Decades of Norwegian conscription at about 8,000 new soldiers a year, plus NATO forces, career troops, the Home Guard, and civilians have given the M77 line a cult following for the simple design and build. Note that this is our best estimate and not an official count.

Great boots

This is the second time I’ve ordered from Arkle and both times have been perfect. I’ve had the Pilots for two months and honestly couldn’t be happier. They handle rain and mud without any issues. I've given them one clean and grease during the two months. With the lace lock I get them on in seconds. They feel good and light on my feet and are the sturdiest boots I’ve ever owned.
