The Most Legendary Combat Boots

About the boots

No membranes. No nonsense. Just durability.

Built from thick, full-grain leather with no unnecessary features. The liner-free design dries fast and adapts to any condition. Breaking them in takes time, but once molded to your feet, they’re built for life.

Used with double or even triple socks for a customizable fit and moisture management. The heel groove and reinforced sole edges make them compatible with NATO-standard ski and snowshoe bindings.

Trusted by NATO, the Norwegian, Finnish, Estonian, Latvian, and Lithuanian Defence Forces, the M77 is a combat-tested boot. Built for those who need footwear they can rely on.

How the boots are made

History of M77

In the 1960s, the Norwegian army decided to update its combat footwear. At that time, soldiers wore ankle-high leather shoes paired with separate fabric gaiters. The new boot design was based on the existing model but featured a taller shaft for better support and protection.

The Norwegians conducted extensive testing on every aspect of the boot, including fit, sole structure and tread pattern, lacing system, and leather properties. After about a decade of refinement, the Model 1977 combat boot was introduced. Even today, this boot remains standard issue for Norwegian soldiers, with no current plans for a replacement.
